This Introduction to Courage to Teach program will provide opportunities for learning which meet NH Professional Educators Competencies (Ed 505.07) in demonstrating professional judgment.  We will refresh our commitment to student and teacher learning by:
  • Demonstrating the creation of challenging, dynamic, and safe classroom and school communities that are sensitive to the full range of student diversity, encourage openness, tolerance and respect, caring, collaboration and self-motivation; emphasize both individual and collective responsibility and foster a concern for social justice.
  • Being a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effects of his or her choices and actions on student, parents, and others in the school and community.
  • Understanding schools as complex organizations within a larger community and collaborating effectively with school staff, parents, and others to support students’ learning and well-being.
  • Using a variety of resources to enhance professional development as a scholar, teacher and educational leader, including: a) professional literature; b) professional organizations; c) colleagues; and d) service opportunities.
We will gather at the Snowy Owl Inn in Waterville Valley, NH at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14 and conclude after lunch on Thursday, August 16.  The folks at the Snowy Owl invite you to extend your stay for a day on either side of the retreat with your family at the reduced rate they provide to us. Please speak with Tracy at the Inn to make those arrangements.
